Last updated 1 September 2026

This is a working draft, written to describe how Levi.art actually collects and uses information today. It isn’t legal advice — have a qualified lawyer review it before relying on it, especially before the site goes live for real customers.

Levi.art (“we,” “us”) is a Christian visual art brand based in Nairobi, Kenya, run by Levi. This policy explains what personal information we collect when you use this site, why, and what rights you have over it.

Information we collect

We only collect what a given form on this site actually asks you for. That includes: your name, email address, and phone number when you submit a commission request or place an order; your delivery location and any special instructions you add; a reference photograph, if you upload one for a commission; and your email address alone, if you sign up for the Levi.art Journal newsletter.

We don’t require an account to browse, commission a piece, or place an order — there are no passwords or user profiles to worry about. Your shopping cart (which prints or merchandise you’ve added, in what size or color) is kept only in your own browser’s local storage. It never reaches our servers until you actually submit an order at checkout, and it’s cleared if you clear your browser’s site data.

How we use it

We use your information to review and fulfill commission requests and orders, to contact you about their status, to arrange delivery, and to reply to questions you send us directly. If you’ve subscribed to the Journal, we’ll use your email to send it — nothing else, and you can unsubscribe at any time. We don’t use your information for advertising, and we don’t sell it to anyone.

Payments

Levi.art doesn’t collect or store any card details, M-Pesa PIN, or other payment credentials. When you place an order, you pay directly via M-Pesa Buy Goods on your own phone, to Levi’s till number — we only see that a payment was made, confirmed by Levi personally, not any of your banking details.

Where your information is stored

Order and commission records, along with any reference photos or product photography, are stored using Vercel’s cloud infrastructure (including Vercel Blob storage) and are only accessible through Levi’s own password-protected admin dashboard. We keep this information for as long as needed to fulfill your order or commission, respond to any follow-up questions, and meet our own record-keeping obligations under Kenyan law.

Sharing your information

We share your information only where it’s genuinely needed to run the site or fulfill your order: with our hosting and storage provider (Vercel), and with whoever handles delivery for your order — an Uber driver for deliveries within Nairobi, or a courier company for deliveries outside Nairobi — who receive only your delivery address and phone number, nothing more. We don’t share your information with advertisers or data brokers.

Your rights

Under Kenya’s Data Protection Act, 2019, you have the right to ask what personal information we hold about you, to have inaccurate information corrected, and to request that we delete it (except where we’re required to keep certain records by law). To make any of these requests, contact Levi directly using the details on the Contact page.

Children’s privacy

Levi.art isn’t directed at children, and we don’t knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we’ll remove it.

Changes to this policy

If how we handle your information changes in a meaningful way, we’ll update this page and change the “last updated” date above.
